Version 3.0.0 RC2 Bug Report

A bug has been reported in version 3.0.0 RC2 by Padmanabham Durvasula from Hyderabad. He was trying to run Lipikar at a screen resolution of 800 x 600 when the program crashed. I verified this and saw that this version is refusing to start and crashing on any resolution less than 1024 x 768.

These days, not many run their monitors below the resolution of 1024 x 768. So this bug can be considered as a low priority one and will hopefully be fixed in the next/final version.

I set up Lipikar on a friend's computer with the desktop DPI setting at 120. I know one of the requirements is the DPI be set to 96. The program does not show all of the characters in the font, nor can I change the size of the font table. I don't know how easy this would be to fix. It would be helpful in my friend's case.

Lipikar has been tested in 120 dpi environment and has been observed to be functionally correct.

The only reason 120 dpi should not be used for Lipikar is because it messes up the screen formatting pretty badly. Bad programming, I'm sure!

In 120 dpi, most of the screen formatting buttons (eg. FontMap Size and realignment buttons) would also behave erratically.

This problem cannot be fixed. But again, Lipikar should be functionally normal in 120 dpi environment.

Please email with problem details to lipikar@gmail.com if you want any further help.
